Boring Stuff

Today they installed some ductwork.  Boring!  The bright side is that our pre-drywall walkthrough should be early next week if everything goes well this week.

Shingles and Doors and Framing, Oh My

Today was clean up Friday. Most of the debris inside is gone.  The shingles are on the roof! All of the windows and exterior doors are in (except the front door).

The garage service door is on! The girls tested it to make sure it works.

Back of the house. We have had some very intense sunsets lately. Makes picture taking difficult.

The garage service door from the inside. I wish it opened towards the other wall. I am sure it is like this for a reason.

Here is the view out of the master bedroom windows on the back.

There are some makeshift handrails surrounding the attic steps.  That made it a bit less scary for the person afraid of heights...me.

The attic bathroom is framed.

Two views out of the attic bedroom...

Two views out of the attic living area...

Panorama shot of the kitchen, dinette area, and family room.

Checking out the sliding door.

Steps to the house from the garage!!!!  That makes things a little easier!

That's all for now. Weekends are so long now. I can't wait to see what Monday morning brings!

More Excitement

All of the windows but one and the sliding door have been installed.  Some of the walls in the attic were put in place and the house was wrapped.

Here are some goodies in the garage.

Here is a view of the attic bedroom. The left side is the door frame. To the right is the full bathroom which will have doors on both ends (the bedroom and the living area). There will be a half wall on the left side of the stairwell.

The girls are teasing the neighbor's dogs from the living area attic window.

Here's a better view of the attic bedroom. The right side has a long closet.

Another shot looking down to the second floor.

Veronica was checking out the sunset from her bedroom window.

Three of the four windows in our bedroom.  Good thing Mike likes to wash windows!

The motorcycle stall. I will just leave it at that...

Panorama shot of the front with lots of sunset reflection!

Steps Are Awesome

Lots of things happened today. They installed all of the steps, giving us access to the attic and the basement. They also installed the attic windows and finished the attic exterior framing.

Here is a view of one attic window.  The other side looks the same.

These are the steps to the attic. The picture is taken from the hall area of the second floor.

This is a picture of the bedroom half of the attic. The interior walls aren't up yet in the attic.  Standing here made me wonder why someone who is afraid of heights is so excited to have a four story house.

This is looking at the living space in the attic. I took it from the landing. I was too chicken to go up the last flight of steps.

Here is the base for the seat in our master shower.

By not having a bathtub in our master bath, we get to have this massive linen closet.

Going to the basement was easier than going to the attic. There is still a bit of water down there.  But wow, it is huge!

The basement is shaped like an "L". I found the panorama option on the camera on my phone and tested it out here.

The back side of the basement steps.

From the backside of the steps, here's the egress window.

Standing on the first floor steps looking up at the neverending steps.

One Lousy View

I relied on Mike to take pictures tonight because I didn't feel like dragging the kids down to the house.  And I have four versions of the same thing....so here they are.  Lots of progress on the roof.

Roof and Attic Floor

Today, the weather was perfect (for working on the house). By the time I could take pictures, it was a bit too sunny.  This is the best I could do. They worked on the roof and attic floor today. They also worked on the front of the garage. The large opening in the ends of the attic reminds me of a hangar.  Maybe we are supposed to park our private jet up there. The girls are getting excited. Veronica even had a dream that she found all the accessories she wants for her room for only $10. Ha.

The Attic!

Yesterday, we had thunderstorms. I normally love thunderstorms and this was only the second good one we have had in the 3+ months we have lived here. Now I wish they would just hold off until the weekends.

This was a beautiful sight this morning. It can only mean one thing at this stage. They are lifting the trusses to the top!

Here is a view from the back/side:

Another view from the back/side:

This picture makes the peak of the roof look very small because the true peak isn't on yet.

One end of the attic. Wondering how that big rectangle will ultimately be covered. This end is the attic bedroom. There will be a window in that large opening.

Looking up from the steps...what a mess of wood!
